From Blue Jaz, we then went to Samal Highlands since we were invited to gatecrash the party that Tita Nelia and Tito Frank were attending…hahaha. It took us about 35 minutes from Blue Jaz to reach Samal Highlands, passing through bumpy and dusty roads. Though Samal Highlands is still undergoing development, the beauty of the place is already evident. Supposedly, we were informed that there is a residential area located just after the main gate. Going down the still to be cemented road, there is a man-made lagoon that is carefully crafted to highlight the existing features of the place.
The ravine on the western portion of the resort is being developed and is at that time undergoing landscaping. An infinity pool is also located by the sea-shore. A boardwalk is also being constructed so that visitors may enjoy the experience of walking through the mangroves in the area. Visitors will likewise be treated to magnificent view of the mountains of Davao Oriental and of the Small and Big Liguid Islands.
Though still being developed, we were informed that Samal Highlands has just opened for the public. Modern cottages are already available to accommodate visitors. We settled in one of the bigger cottages to meet and greet the birthday celebrant, Tita Eve Alfon, the wife of one of the owners/developers of Samal Highlands. We really enjoyed the sumptuous food that Tita Eve, has prepared while listening to good music being played a live band. We also met other friends of Tito Frank and Tita Nelia. It was just so nice to meet the warm people of Davao.
How much is riding the speed boat? This is really nice. Keep on posting.
