Southern Jaunt VII - Panabo City

On our third day in Davao City, since Tito Frank will drive us to Camp Sabros in the afternoon, we decided to accompany him in going to Panabo City to visit Lola Turing (Victoria), Ais’ grandmother. This will likewise enable him to check the on-going construction of their building. Panabo City, which is a part of the province of Davao del Norte is the hometown of Tito Frank and Tita Nelia. It is more than 20 kms from the Davao International Airport.

We were able to meet Lola Turing. It was also the first time for Ivy to meet her husbands grandmother. Lola Turing, though already 90 years old, is still very much active and is also very jolly. She has lots of stories and gamely answered even our out of the blue questions. We can only but admire her collection of dolls and other mementos from her children and grandkids. She also has very fond memories of their pet mynah to share.

We then went to see the building, the construction of which is being supervised by Tito Frank. It is located at a busy intersection opposite the Maryknoll High School of Panabo. We even went to the Top Floor and took pictures of the surrounding area.

We are so glad we were able to visit Panabo City. Hopefully next time, we'll be able to stay there a little longer.
