The Revolutionary Museum is one of the most important repositories of the History of the Vietnamese People. As strangers in a foreign land, we decided that there is no better way to get acquainted with Vietnamese history and culture than to visit a museum. The entrance fee to the museum is also very affordable, so it really is very encouraging to learn a lot in so short a time.
The Revolutionary Museum is located just on the other side of the street adjacent to the City Hall. The latter could actually be seen on the 2nd floor of the Museum. Also located just a few blocks from it is the Notre Dame Basilica and the Reunification Palace.
Hunny's a Firework
One section in the museum is devoted to the different traditional costumes/dresses of the Vietnamese. A favorite of Hunny's is the section where you can find the different dresses used in traditional Vietnamese weddings. Actually, we saw at least two (2) couples having their pictorial in the Museum. Too bad though, they were clad in modern dresses instead of the types displayed in the museum. Maybe it was an off-shoot of so-called modernization.
Another part of the Museum is likewise devoted to guns, explosives, ammunitions and other vestiges of war. Of course, Though I have previously held an AK-47 complete with its bayonet, courtesy of my father, it was actually my first time to see a Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG). However, I think that the ancient guns included in the collection are worth a lot more since these were really impressive.

There is also the Coin and Currency Section of the Museum. As the name implies, all the previous and current currency used in Vietnam are displayed here. Too bad, picturetaking is not allowed inside the area.
