Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica (Vương cung thánh đường Đức Bà Sài Gòn or Nhà thờ Đức Bà Sài Gòn) is another impressive structure that every traveler in HCMC must visit.
The image of the Blessed Virgin Mary in front of the Cathedral became controversial in 2005 when it was claimed that it shed tears. Thousands of the faithful flocked to the place. However, the Roman Catholic Church in Vietnam still issued a declaration saying that the said image did not actually shed tears.
Saigon Notre Dame Basilica
It is made of red bricks purportedly imported from Marseille in France. It has two magnificent bell towers which add grandeur to it. Located in downtown HCMC, the Basilica is like an island in the middle of a busy street. The magnificence of the Basilica is evident not only in its façade as its periphery is equally impressive.

"Regina Pacis"
Those who wish to attend the Mass celebrated in English may do so every Sunday at 9:30 AM. Contrary to the usual practice here in the Philippines, the Basilica is closed at most times of the day. So you really have to ask the locals should you wish to attend Mass there, or at least see the Cathedral's interior.
